Unhappy TL 05 not moving and stays on N even if set on D or R

So I got a 05 TL automatic, but I'm having the problem that my car won't drive even if I set it to D,R,or M. It was driving good until one day I stopped at a traffic intersection and it just didn't want move anymore. It would rev but won't move. So I pushed it home and waited till the morning to work on it.

So I was reading some forums and they say to change the transmission oil, filter, and the transmission solenoids. I did all that but now...
If it's a cold start it let's me shift but delays 10s to actually move (starting it up and I'd put it on D or R and wait till the car moves ). But the longer it warms up the longer it takes to move. After 5mins the car won't move anymore.

Get $4,200 or so ready

Yep, super common in these. Hope you got a great deal on it, as R&R for reman tranny runs about $4,200.

I have the same problem here. one thing i noticed is that if i disconnect the battery for some time and re-connect the transmission works but goes limp 10 minutes after that. so i suspected something with the solenoids (i have not replaced the solenoids) but have replaced the ATF and the filter.
I took it to a transmission shop and the TECH said " you need a new transmission, the problem is that your filter is clogged and we cant get to it without rebuilding your transmission" that's where i became suspicious because if this was an 08 it would be true but on the 05 the filter can be replaced and i did that.
I guess i have to bite the bullet here and get it replaced. was quoted $2500 which is not bad. and the only reason im doing it is because i just rebuilt the front suspension and the car is in good condition. really no other mechanical issues. $2500 would help me to get at least a year or more of use.
I have been searching for other parts to change to make the tranny work again but i guess im out of ideas.

The issue is that there is another few mesh type filters inside the trans that can only be taken out during a rebuilt vs the secondary orange one that can be replaced on 04-06 models. That one can also be clogged with clutch pack material restricting flow. One is in the valve body, part no 10:
