Timing Belt Idler Bolt Won't Stop Spinning

Hello everyone!

I have just taken on the task of changing my timing belt and water pump. Everything has been going great up until this point (we wont talk about how I almost lost my power steering pump bolts). I am putting my idler back on attempting to torque to spec via this thread, however the bolt does not stop spinning... I guess my question is really, "How screwed am I"? Is this a common issue or did I manage to totally mess something up?

Thanks a ton!

Josh

1) Is it possible that you accidently switched the shorter #7 (TB adjuster bolt) with the longer #11 (TB idler bolt)?
If that is possible.

2) If you did not accidently switch bolts #7 and #11 and you are using the correct sized bolts, are there aluminum threads coming out of the block after the #11 spins and you remove it?

I did indeed use the correct bolt, I made sure to keep them with what I took them out of lol.

Now that I took it out, yes, I do have aluminum shavings coming out any way to retap that hole without pulling the engine or taking to to a shop?
