Tie Rod Dust Seal Replacement

The driver's side dust seal on my 04 TL appears to be cracked and leaking. The bottom of it is chewed up at the outer edge and has some sticky gunk on it. My p/s reservoir was still at the lower line when I noticed this. I've never had to add to before in the 5 years I've owned the vehicle.

I'm thinking (hoping?) that since I haven't really lost any noticeable amount of fluid, I should only need to replace the dust seal (part 7 below).

Does this seem reasonable? How hard of a job is it? Anyone have a pointer to instructions?

Thanks.

You'll need to remove the tie rod end (10) from the knuckle, then remove the tie rod end (10) by loosening the nut (8), undo the boot clamps, remove the boot from the rack, bend back the tabs on the lock washer (8), then with a wrench to hold the rack assembly, unscrew the rack end (1) with another wrench and the end (1) will come out. Don't lose the lock washer or rubber "O" ring. After replacement you'll need an alignment.
