Third cat

Looking to replace my third cat I noticed my existing bolts are rusted to the point of no return. The dealer has the bolts for about $14 a piece. Does anyone know of aftermarket bolts that I can use?

You can use any bolt and nut that will fit. OEM is probably M10 but I'm just guessing.

Yea I figured so. The ones from the dealer looked like some special converter bolts not your regular bolt.

I would just go to the hardware store and get the biggest bolts that fit with a cadmium or zinc coating and grab washers and nuts too. I also always use copper anti seize on exhaust bolts. If a lower CEL count is what you're after, ATLP and XLR8 both make high flow 3rd cats for our car.

I actually have a magnaflow converter in my possession which is 400 cell. Ideally I would like to be at oem cell count and not above. So I was just wondering what the cell count on the third cat for the type s was as the dealer does not know.

Also would regular bolts from a hardware store without the coating suffice for a converter that gets hot and cold consistently?
