Third Brake light not coming on

Hey all, I need some help in figuring out what is wrong with the third brake light. I did a search and all the third brake light problems I saw were about the lights dimming or only half on. My problem is that it wont turn on at all when I step on the brake. I checked the voltage at the connecter and it is reading 12V when stepping on the brakes. Next I checked the voltage after the RedAlert module and it still reads 12V while stepping on the brakes.

Do you guys think the brake light assembly is totally burnt out? If so do you know if it is fairly easy to repair it? I don't want to spend $130 on it...

Thanks in advance

It an easy fix, but I don't know the cost of the part.
You pull the cover down from the ceiling and there are 2 10mm bolts and a couple of clips to remove. Installation is the reverse.

Thanks for the responses guys. It seems like the problem lies within the Red Alert Module itself and not the switch. Red Alert is a module that flashes the third brake light to warn drivers behind you that you are either slowing down or coming to a stop.

I bypassed the module with some alligator clips so I have my third brake light for now. Hopefully I can get a replacement module under warranty. Thanks again.

I have the same problem with my car. I was going to purchase the switch but the dealers in my area don't seem to carry that part.
