Question Thermometer not working?

Driving around Houston today, I noticed the temp displayed on the dash was 84 degrees. It has displayed the same 84 degree temp all day. It is not exactly 84 in Houston today, more like 99.

Any ideas? If not something simple (like reset something), I will probably take it into the dealer.

Thanks.

Alan

P.S. Almost forgot - Car is 2007 TL-S.

The temp gauge isnt going to read the exact temperature because of where it is located on the front bumper near the radiator, there is a honda service news bulletin on this. But it does seem sort of odd that if its more like 99degrees it should be reading hotter than 84 because it is near the engine. Not too sure about the tl's but some can be adjusted + or - a few degrees you can do this on the newer honda odysseys.

The temp display from Acura is the biggest farce in the business. I have never seen anything as worthless. Inaccurate temps as you describe...or get this...won't display over 115 degrees. Are you kidding me? There are days here where we hit that by noon!

I'm in Houston. Mine was reading ~91. It's the heat index down here that's making it feel so much hotter than the actual temperature.

Weird. I returned to my car from work today and the thermometer read 106. By the time I was home, it was down to 96. Probably right in the ballpark for Houston at 7:00pm.

It seems to be inconsistent at best, but probably won't take it to the dealer unless it gets worse.

Mine is very consistant. Everytime I drive past Baker with the giant thermometer my car always reads exactly 4 degrees cooler than the thermometer. The girlfriend's Murano reads 3 degrees cooler everytime. Not sure if is accurate but it's consistant.

Temp readings

I have an 06 TL and I think there is an issue with this; I live in the Southwest and when it gets over 100deg F, the readings drop out and the dashes appear in the display (---). The dealer is already trying to explain this but the readings are basically wrong most of the time, and the calculations in the 2007 tech bulletin explain the convoluted calculations but not the fact remains that the readout is wrong or non-existant. Hey Acura...get the details right don't try to bury the issue in this tech bulletin saying that it is not a precision measuring device!

I have to take the car in for the steering recall so I will check again and reply with any new info.
