Supercharged Motor Constantly Eating Belts
Well...as stated, I am supercharged and a few months ago my car started to eat belts like breakfast! No kidding....I would only get like 50 - 75 miles on a brand new belt before it would eat it up and toss it eventually. I was using Goodyear Gatorback Belts Part# 4060945 as specified by Comptech with their supercharger units. After much diagnosis and looking things over, there was no belt misalignment issues whatsoever and nothing strange that looked to be wrong or out of place at all. I eventually replaced both the idler and tensioner pullies and it seemed to do the trick as it has not tossed another belt since. No kidding, I went through over $100 in belts in less than a month!
Bottom line....the bearings didnt appear to be outright screwed on either pulley, but there was just enough drag on them that they did not spin as free as they should have and it was my belief that under WOT they probably overheated the belt and caused it to break down early.
Anybody else have this issue yet? If not....you may start with your tensioner and idler pullies as they are probably doing the same thing. Given you are tossing more HP at them and overspinning them to some degree it would most likley be the issue.

take of the pulley on the chargers and make sure that it is restriction free, also lube it if needed. If you had the time and energy, take off the blower and put on a stock sized belt. Drive around under-powered for a while and see if the belt breaks down, if it does then its one of the stock pullys. If the belt lasts, then its the charger.
