So when my sunroof is completly open (not tilted), and i press the auto close, it will go all the way to the end (minus 1 inch) and then re-open as if something blocked it.
I was able to close it eventually by repeatadly pushing the close button for fraction of seconds at a time.

I'll check the tracks make sure nothing is blocking them, but was hoping to hear your experiences on this matter.
Do you grease them sometimes? is there a motor reset/learning procedure that you guys tried before?

Anyways, just getting ready for summer after this long cold and gray winter.

I "usually" try to wipe the rails out once a year....kind of...as much as you can, and then spray a tiny amount of lithium grease on the tracks. I have never known the "appropriate" preventive maintenance for sunroofs. This is just what I have done over the past 20 years or so since every car I have owned since '97 has had a sun/moonroof. Then I use Shintsu grease across all of the seals.

 

If the auto close fails, you can half hold the button to manually close. You don't have to keep pushing it.
