umm, don't hit it with a rubber mallet. Are you sure you didn't leave like a screw driver or something under the hood and it's getting in the way of properly closing the hood.

Why did you jack the car up? It's easier to remove the front bumper to install it. Didn't you use the proper jacking points (look in the manual if you don't know where that is). If you use the proper jacking points, it shouldn't harm the car.....if you didn't.......hit yourself on the head.

Take it to a reliable body shop and see what they say.

Otherwise, try and get a similar model TL and compare em. You should be able to figure out what's out of line.

Well, I think it's safe to say that your frame is not at fault, unless you were EXTREMELY violent when installing your body kit.

^^That's was a mistake^^
If you placed the jack under the radiator support you most likely torqued the crap out of it and thus mis-aligned the hood latch. Take it to a body shop and have them check it out. Best case scenario is they bend the bulkhead back into shape. Worse case is changing the entire bulkhead.
Good luck....

agreed! do what he recomends! that was not the spot to lift it. you pushed every thing up. there was a spot a little further back. for that. if your car is t low for a cack get acouple pieces of wood and drive the tires on to them for added height..

first tie the hood to your car, so that while driving to a body shop the hood doesnt fly up. Dont take any highways.

if it closes all the way, but doesnt line up, just take it to a body shop. They can fix that.

open the hood and see if you can see where or if its raised. i know it sounds crude but simply standing on the side thats raised may be enough to get it into place. (most likey a body shop would use simular methods (beating it into place, pushing, or bouncing on it)

check the condenser radiator clamps.
they are #8 in the drawing here
those should be flat. if you lifted the car by the condenser radiator you probably bent those things. they sit right next to the hood stops so there's a good chance they are causing your hood to be misaligned.

if they are, you can unscrew them and hammer them out straight. good luck.

i really hope you didn't damage your radiators...
