A couple months ago i dynamated my trunk to include the deck lid. Now i knew that this was going to add weight to my trunk, but now when i hit my trunk release my trunk only pops up enough to unlatch (maybe 1/4 inch). Is there anyway to strengthen the trunk release so it will open once again?

Yea...Acura makes upgraded springs that come with their spoilers (stiffer). I wouldnt be surprised if they just sell the spings alone. You may want to look into just the single spring that comes with the decklid spoiler.

 

Hmm thanks, ill have to call em up and see what they can do. See how much stronger they are. Also wonder if i already have them, since i have the spoiler already..

Man...If i knew how to read (your signature!)! Hahaha! The wing spoiler has TWO springs (upgrades both). Since you have the decklid spoiler, I assume they installed the single spring ( at least thats what I assume) YOu may want to get the Wing Spoiler Springs.

Well if you have the trunk spring tool there are two notches that you can adjust the trunk spring to on each one. If your car isnt already adjusted to the highest or heaviest one you might wanna try the other notch. But you have to have the trunk spring tool inorder to adjust them, and it is kinda scary!

 

you could remove the boat anchor dampener from the trunk lid and then your trunk will pop right open. see the thread about putting your TL on a diet

 

I have an 07 TL-S, and when I pop the trunk it pops about 1/4 inch (Nothing has been added, just has the factory lip spoiler that comes on the TL-S. Should my trunk be popping completely open? And when I go to open the trunk, it feels like I have some resist in the arms as I pull it open (about half way open).
