Strange Noise when steering.

Well I have a 2006 TL with 44k miles. Since it was getting colder my steering has been making a weird noise. It sounds maybe like a grinding noise. Not sure what it is. Does anybody have a clue or idea what it is?

You may want to try replacing the o-ring for the power steering pump inlet. Here's the DIY for it:

If you take a vid so we can hear the sound you are referring to we could more accurately diagnose the situation. My steering pump (along with multiple others) was making a noise when it was cold out and then it would become less noticiable after the car warmed up. After replacing the o-ring the noise was gone. I believe the o-ring was less then 2 dollars from the dealership and the DIY takes maybe 20 minutes. Worth a try I would say.

I've heard about that fix. Once it warms down a bit I will be trying that fix, and once it's colder I will try to make a video of the noise when I steer. It usually makes that grinding noise when it's extremely cold.
