Im just posting about the DVD player in the car isn't working, I didn't update my Navi system. Could that be problem just making sure.

Either the laser in the DVD drive failed or another component. Usually updating won't fix it. I've managed to get mine working for a month after undoing the battery for 30 minutes and plugging it back in and entering the navi/radio security codes.

You can get the drive fixed from alpine for about 300 dollars.

Just to be clear, the navigation system does NOT play DVD movies. It reads the navigation disks, that's it. The audio system up front also does not play DVD video disks. It only plays DVD-audio disks.
