I dont come around here much, as my 2005 6mt has been flawless.
38,000 miles (not many for 4 years old) on the car, it just went through its first inspection without problems, I have yet to have a rattle or a bulb out.
It has not been back to the dealers except for some recall (power steering hose?), and has not been in any shop.
Cant top that, a LOT different from the 2003 VW passat I had!

I really like the car, 33 mpg at 70 mph, smooth and quiet, nice looking, and reliable...

You're probably in the majority -- I think most 3G TLs are, in general, largely problem free. I've got 76,000 on my '04 right now, and other than a few minor things, it's been a wonderful car. Unfortunately, we'll be parting ways next month once my new ride finally arrives.

 

I have to agree. The TL-S that I've had for 1.5 years has been flawless. IMO money well spent. I hope to keep this car for years to come.

 

I have an 06 Tl and have fixed the common rattles and squeaks and in some cases more than once .. No mechanical issues but unlike yourself I had no issues at all with my 03 Passat. Nada.

 

My 04, with 75k is rock solid - the only thing I find that needs a "fix" is the buzzing that I get from one of my console "trap doors" at certain low rpms....
