My TL has consistent steam coming from the exhaust. It is getting cooler here in NY but has been pretty mild thus far 40-50 degrees. I understand that condensation is normal but it seems that mine is pretty consistent and will continue even after a 20 minute drive.
The car does not overheat. The coolant levels are good. The oil seems to be good, not milky. The steam coming out of the exhaust smells like steam, not sweet or anything like that.
When examining the muffler I did notice quite a lot of water in the actual muffler. It's not flooded by any means but a thin sheen of water inside. I've attached a picture and video for reference. I'm just paranoid and hope its not a blown head gasket. Thanks in advance!
Justin one of my friend works for Audi of Silver Spring in MD as a services advisor send me a pic earlier the document read "Customer complaint brake pedal feel spongy car become hard to stop, customer stated saw on facebook add coolant into break fluid to prevent the fluid being freeze during winter" Dam someone actually felt for it.
Lol. Relevant anecdote: So, the RV6 true duals actually use several separate pieces of pipe which are held together with clamps. Since they're clamped, it's not a perfect seal. So, if I leave my car running in one spot and then look underneath the car, there will be water dripping from the exhaust joints where the clamps are.
This is normal, from what I can tell. If it's not normal, then my car and yours have the same problem lol.
Yes mine does the same ..here in the northeast with the 50-60 degree weather in December I see every car in front of me doing the same.Stopped at a light get on the gas and a stream of water sprays slightly out of the exhaust. Its called condensation!
