Life of Starters tend to be a long one with normal starting.
Wife had a 2000 TL and never had a problem w the starter itself but 7 years latter the cable from battery corroded at the starter.
F.W.I.W. the Acura dealer said thats a very un comon and we often had battery corrosion problems at the battery terminals - even with those anti corrosion pads.

My starter died a few days after I bought the car...
It had 129,000 KMs (80k miles) on it (IIRC).

Did it just die or did you get the idea it was going? I'm experiencing an issue myself, first start in the morning takes 2 or 3 tries before turning over and I mean I have to stop and re-turn key it wont just keep cranking. Had the battery checked, not the battery.

well i tried to start it couple of time and it wouldnt crank and the battery is new only been a year i have the battery, after maybe like 6 x turning it off taking the key out, putting it back in then it started so im guessing it wants to die...
