Squeaky brakes! PLS Advice!

A few weeks ago i changed my brake pads and rotors.
I used A-Spec brake pads and StopThech drilled rotors.
Performance wise is perfect. Stoping distance is way improved.....but even after 500 miles my breakes are still squeaking!!!!! It's vey frustrating.

What could be the problem. Is there any fix? Or i have to wait more time?

Thank you

Is the tapered end of the brake pad pointing in the right direction?

Did you clean up the hardware nice and regrease? Sometimes this helps, grease is not magic though. Usually I think it's more of a "for good measure" kind of reason.

my money would be on bedding or greasing.....

but since you said the stopping distance has reduced, I would assume you did bed em in properly....did you apply enough grease ?

Also yes about the rear pads....did you sand down the tab which sticks out ?

Well, the bedding was done right. About the grease I can't say because my mechanic installed them. He worked on all my cars. this is not the first time that he installs rotors and brake pads on my car.
Anyhow this is the first time that i use anything else than OEM.

So in your opinion it could be one of the two:
1. In proper bedding.
2. Not enough grease?

Thank you.

I have a similar situation, I upgraded both rotors and pads ans continue to have the squeal...slightly annoying.

I am thinking of going back to the stock pad. Any other thoughts ?
Thx in advance

am guessing both u guys have a 5AT....

some pads dont fit the rear and you have to sand down a tab that sticks out....this tab induces squeaking....

can you guys identify where the squeak is coming from ? front/back ?

Did you put anti-squeak paste on the back sides of the pads? That stuff comes in a tube or a small squeeze container and is applied to each pad at the areas where the pads meet the piston or the back support. It really works. I've been using it on every brake job I did on our cars and, years ago when I worked in our family's auto shop, on customers' cars. Try it.

I bought my '04 TL in may. The rear brakes started squeaking a little over a month after purchase. Pads had 3/4 to them. They squeal under light braking all the time. So annoying. From what a mechanic told me, there was probably extra space between shims in the rear allowing too much play and movement by the pad?

That is the grease....what happened is this

Caliper -- Pad -- Rotor -- Pad -- Piston -- Caliper

the pads and very close to the rotor...so when you brake the piston slides out squeezing the pads onto the rotors to make is stop....this sliding of the pads cause the squeaks if there isnt enough grease applied to them....

1> if they squeak only under braking and then shut up --> grease
2> if they squeak under braking and have a slight metal-ish contact noise from time to time --> ur riding on shims, you need new pads....

should I just do the rear brakes over? It doesn't seem too hard
