Speedometer Shorting when Engine Off

Battery in my Acura TL 2005 died hard overnight. Could not determine the drain. New battery installed today. Tonight, found that with no key inserted, every 25 seconds the speedometer needle would click down (that is, the speedometer needle tries to rotate in the counter-clockwise direction) and at the same time, the memory set button for either seat one or two would flash on. This combination repeated every 25 seconds. I believe this is causing the battery drain. Can anyone explain why the speedometer needle would click down every 25 seconds with no key inserted? Just a note, I read that the HFL can cause battery to drain. My HFL died about two years ago and I will disconnect the power from it tomorrow (I am writing this at 2 AM). But I can't rationalize how the HFL might be causing the speedometer needle to click down. Thanks for your thoughts and advice.

Just checking in. As a favor, could anyone with a 2005 Acura TL check their speedometer with no key in the ignition and see if the needle on the speedometer clicks down about every 30 seconds or so? I know this is a strange request, but thanks. Maybe it is normal?

I'd check for you right now but mine is a 2007 type S, not sure if it would exhibits the same characteristics. However I don't think that should be considered normal....
Have you disconnected the hfl? And is it still draining your battery?
