Slow start
I recently purchased a 2008 Acura 3.2 TL, 140K miles. It’s a great car, love it so far. I noticed that after a few days of having the car, it seemed to take a little longer to start, it takes about 4, sometimes 5 seconds for the car to start. When I first got it, it started right up. It only does it after it’s sat for more than 5 hours.. if you drive it for 20-30 minutes and park and go back to it in about an hour, it will start right up. It only happens if it has sat for a while. I’ve only had it for about a week, I don’t know much history about it, besides it only had one owner before myself. I just wanted to get a few opinions before I go and replace the starter.

if the car starts why would you replace the starter?
and your experience with it starting is simply a cold engine vs a warm engine, although I think your 4-5 seconds is inaccurate

Is it slow to turn over, as in spinning slower like a bad battery? Is it slow to start as in it just doesn't fire immediately like a fuel or spark issue? Is it slow to start as in it takes a few second for the starter to even engage?

it just doesn’t fire immediately, sometimes.

If the starter is spinning the engine at normal speed, unlikely to be battery or charging system issues. I swear I remember another issue like this being discussed on the forum....or maybe that was another car forum??? If I am thinking of the correct issue, it was fuel system related and I think fuel pressure regulator.....however....I really could be mixing up cars and forums right now. The theory in my head is the fuel system is bleeding off pressure over time. So warm restarts are near instant, while cold are not.
This is all theory in my head....
