Sheared bolt on air cleaner cover

Replaced the air filter yesterday and when I was putting the air cleaner cover back on, a head from one of the bolts sheared off. I really wasn't torquing it down hard and I was using the correct socket to do it. Before I try to drill this broken bolt out, I wanted to know if anyone else had this happen and what you did to fix it.

buy a new lower assembly for your air box. should be about $40. Did the same thing on the CLS so now I use anti seize on said bolts.

One of mine broke several years ago- since the air cleaner is securely in the airbox with the 3 screws, I left it alone. I also use a screwdriver to tighten and not a ratchet driver as it applies too much torque for these screws.

This happened to me too. I didn't have to drill the bolt out - when I removed the box, the bolt freely spun by hand.
