Screwed up on 1st oil change

On my new 07 TL, I brought it in for the 1st oil change at 2500 miles. Thought I was doing the right thing by getting 1st oil change earlier than usual. Then, I read on the owners link that there is special oil for the break-in period and it is not advisable to get it changed prior to when the MID reads 15% of oil life. What damage have I done?

Probably none. It's a high Moly content oil and you ran it for 2500 miles. I'd think it did a lot of what it is supposed to do in that time.

The gereral concensus is: Follow the MID.

Dont worry, you havent done anything wrong. I changed my oil out at 1200 - 1400 miles (i think it was that low, its hard to remember now ). You'll be fine!
Everyone has their theories/opinions/facts whatever you want to call it, but as long as you do routine oil changes, you're doing good!

Thanks all for answering. I feel better now knowing that all's OK. I'll pay attention to the MID from now on.

You probably didn't screw anything up, but that break-in oil is in there from the factory set for at least a certain # of miles for a reason.

I hope you didn't take it to the dealer. If you did, it's time to find a different shop. They should have told you not to change it early.
