Scraping Noise..I can make it go away?
Comes from my left front wheel only when I'm not braking and its not always there. As soon as i lightly tap the brakes it goes away. What can it be?

Did you just do brakes? Sounds like the dust shield is slightly rubbing on the rotor.

If not the dust shield, then probably the rotors.

Brakes were done awhile ago. I think this noise came after the brake job and also i get this noise when I'm braking and hit a bump at the same time. I did take the wheel off the other day and inspect the dust shield. It didn't look like it was hitting anything but i did bend it back a little anyways.

I've noticed this with my car, though its barely noticeable at all. I only hear it when my windows are down and I'm driving slow in a parking lot near other cars...I hear a very slight squeaking/scraping noise coming from the brakes somewhere.

Are you sure the noise is brake related? Does it sound like its metal to metal noise? I had the same problem once but I jacked up my car and come to find out the noise was coming from a black plastic shield around the wheel well. There was a bolt that came lose. The bolt was holding two plastic shields and was scraping my tires. I'm not say that is the problem but its worth a checking. Good luck.

I had a similar noise that I only noticed at very low speeds (creeping 5mph) coming from right rear. Found rotor developed a rust ridge around the center (where it meets the hub) on the backside and scraping along the backing plate. Only did it when the brakes were hot. Take off the rotor and inspect everything.

What did you do to fix the problem because i have the same problem.

I had this after an alignment. It was the plastic inner fender that was hanging down on the tire. It would only contact the tire on a bump or under braking.

Noise..
Brake backing plate isn't bent and rubbing the rotor.
"Most likely it's your ware indicators, telling you it's time for brakes", that’s how their designed to work.
Makes noise until you step on the brakes..

Scraping Feeling
Hi, Just bought a 2007 TL Anniversary Edition, and I get this scraping feeling (no noise) on the floor of the car when driving (no particular speed), it comes and goes, any ideas?

Just had rotors and pads replaced ('12 TSX wagon) and now have a scraping noise coming from passenger front wheel when driving. occurs all of the time, driving straight, turning either direction, coasting in neutral. been 3 weeks since the initial work, thought it might wear down but it did not. had it back to the shop and they said some rust must have infiltrated when the brakes were replaced. they infused some grease and it went away for a couple of hours but it's back. car has 58K miles. anybody have an idea what it might be?

Take it back to the shop.
My guess would be heat shield though

It's unusual that the noise would go away and then come back..
Rust usually knocks down and it wouldn't cause noise to that degree
Take it back to the shop and have them properly diagnose it

Thank you both for your reply. The heat shield was the first thing I thought of, had that happen on my '08 Accord but wasn't the problem in this case. Thought it might be a bearing but the wheel is nice and tight when jacked up, no wiggling. Think I'm bringing it to Acura service rather than my local mechanic for this issue. Thanks Again!
