Rough downshift while decelerating

I have a 2008 Acura TL A/T, and the downshift during decelerating has become more abrupt and harsh. The car has about 56K miles on it. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Would a simple transmission fluid change solve the issue or is this been known to be more solenoid related?

Thank you.

Search for "Grade Logic" and read up on this feature of our cars to see if it is normal.

Thank you for the reply, that pointed me to others who are experiencing the exact same phenomenon. It is a bucking feeling in the downshift (progressively worse than when it was new), and sometimes randomly I get the high rev downshift on the transmission when I am coasting. In both cases I am not on a slope, I am on the freeway completely flat. In fact it is almost as if the car believes I am on a slope.

Searching through the previous threads, it appears there is no clear solution. Some suggest ATF flush, most say it is just normal. Has anyone found a remedy for this?

Thanks.

You could try replacing the pressure switches. Search for a thread started by user "ihatecars" titled "Interesting conversation". Its a rather long thread, but it explains all you need to know about the pressure switches, which are known to go bad. Check your fluid for a burnt smell and discoloration---it should be a reddish pink color. If it's brown and smelly, you need to replace. Most guys are going with a full synthetic fluid. I use Redline D4, although the Type F Racing fluid is most recommended.
