I need to get a replacement starter for my car and was curious about my options. I know that the OEM one is a Mitsuba 06312-RDB-515RM and that it's unique compared to the other starters for the 3G TL. Should I just bite the bullet and pay $3XX for that one or will the Denso starter that I have seen mentioned on here work as well for my 3.5 manual?
Going to try to replace it myself as the process seems straightforward.
On a related note, I performed my first ever kick-start this weekend, so that was fun.
I'm assuming that the Denso 2804267 starter that zeta mentioned is for both the manual and automatic 3.5 engine? That one doesn't really differentiate between the two like the other ones on Rockauto.
The only rockauto one that ties directly to the OEM part # above looks like PURE ENERGY 19016.
Here's an OEM 31200-RDB-A01 on ebay for $209.99 shipped; however, there is no way to validate the sellers 'NEW Genuine OEM' claim.
It may be suspect because this starter is $103.55 below the online OEM price on the link above.

I no longer trust eBay for mechanical car parts after buying some fake NGK spark plugs lol
Yeah, it's weird. I originally thought that was the part number as well. Both my Acura certified mechanic and Amazon.com say that starter doesn't fit my car even though the Acura part sites say that it is for a 3.5 w/ a manual tranny. That's why I was sticking with the 515 part number listed above.
I ended up buying one from a highly rated local alternator and starter specialist shop. Great price and they said that it was brand new and OEM. Almost two years in and it's still going strong. No complaints.

i ended up ordering an OEM one. not sure if its the connections or not but it starts intermittently these days.
some times it can take 5+ attempts to crank, other times its much more.
anyways, once OEM one arrives, i will check connections and hopefully the symptoms will stop.
