Removing OEM shifter

Removing OEM shifter

I got a new shifter for my AT TL today. YAY

So I wanted to be sure that I correctly remove the OEM shifter. It's just a twist off right? there's no special directions for the removal? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks.

i have a 2002 tl and all i have to do is twist it counter clockwise. should be the same for the 3rd gens.

For AT, just twist off.
