Red oil light

I have a 2007 Acura TL type s and I was driving and not 5 min into me driving my red oil light comes on which I’ve read is the low oil pressure so immediately I pull over and cut the car off I check the oil and it’s completely filled to the top (just got and oil change 2 months ago and made the switch to full synthetic) just to be sure I put two quarts of oil in and still and oil light when I cranked it up idk what’s happening my oil on the dip stick was dark to have just been changed but I’m afraid to crank it and ruin the car pls help

Maybe your sensor is damaged or unplugged?

Stop adding oil if its already full.

I have a small oil leak and the car had been running so I thought the dipstick would be giving me a false level but I won’t put anymore in I still haven’t been able to fix it because it’s to expensive to get it towed and then fixed anywhere

Replace the oil pressure switch and give it a try.

Not many people have an oil pressure gauge, hose, and adapter laying around, so for $7 replace the sensor.
Actually there are sensors as low as $1.22 + shipping.

You should consider draining your oil and topping off again.. max oil capacity is 4.5 quarts for the J32/J35, you overfilled by an additional 2 quarts.. when you over fill by that much the level of oil in the oil pan will come in contact with your crankshaft and will aerate it.. that will make your oil frothy and foamy which wont lubricate the engine properly causing engine damage.. probably not a big issue if you havent driven much but i def wouldnt wait for another oil change.. should drain your oil and refill sooner rather than later
