Question Recent Vibration Problem...

I've started noticing two weeks ago that while driving at higher speeds (60+ mph), I can feel a vibration in the steering. Yesterday I had my fiance take it to work to see if it the vibration would replicate and it did; even throwing it in neutral (while on the highway) there was still vibration...and doesn't seem like an alignment problem because the steering stays straight (not off to one side or the other when letting go of the steering)...and we checked all of the wheel weights, which were still attached (although maybe one could be missing that I'm unaware of?). "If" I had hit a pothole (which Pennsylvania has MANY)... is it possible to damage the axle or anything else?

I'm curious if anyone else w/ an 05 TL has had this issue. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow, with hopes that whatever it is... it will be an easy fix.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Kelly

TL wheels/tires are quite a hassle to balance properly even when new, and after mileage with normal tire wear, the balnce is compromised. Suggest you find a shop that has the Hunter Road Force balancer and have them rebalanced and rotated. Pay particular attention to the tread wear to be certain that it is even across the tire, no feathered edges or uneven wear which would indicate a problem and an alignment needed along with the balancing.

This might help:

We looked at my tires and they look fine (as far as the wear or feathering); although that's not to say that we could be missing something when they're taken off for rotatation/balancing. Oh well - Guess I'll just have to wait to hear what the dealer says.

Thanks again, Turbo! :-D
