Before you start, make sure to wear proper eye protection. Inspect both the dead battery and the battery you're going to jump from. If either looks damaged, do not attempt the jump start procedure. Also be sure the vent caps are secure.

To begin:
  1. Make certain the vehicles are not touching and both ignition switches are turned to OFF.
  2. Connect positive booster cable to positive terminal of the dead battery.
  3. Connect the other end of the positive cable to the positive terminal of the live battery.
  4. Connect negative cable to negative terminal of the live battery.
  5. Make final connection of negative cable to engine block (away from the battery) of the car with the dead battery. (This is done because the dead battery could be emitting flammable gas. This final connection is away from the battery so if there are any sparks, they won't cause an explosion.)
  6. Start vehicle and remove cables in reverse order.
If you have any specific questions about how to jump start, check your owner's manual.

Here is a "general jumpstart procedure...but I would check the owners manual due to the electronics our cars have?

The manual says about the same thing....just states to ground the TL side to the grounding strap....so I would heed this as we DO have a lot of electronics that you dont want to spike in any way...
