Rattle from the instrument panel area

My 06 TL has rattling noise coming from the instrument panel area. It sounds like it's coming from right under the speedometer. Any ideas? Thank you.

Yeah, I'm now getting a sound that I believe is coming from behind the speedo... You ever find an answer?

Nope, when I get a chance, I think I am going to take out the steering column covers and see what's down there. Let me know what you find as well.

Have all of you checked your sun visors when you heard the rattle/buzz?
The mirror lid on my stowed driver's side sun visor moves and makes that noise (which sounds like it's coming from the dash) over rough/cracked road surfaces unless I pull the visor down a tad, away from the headliner.

IIRC, some people also had rattles due to a detachment of the left side upper A/C vent; it's mentioned in the rattle threads linked from the 3G Service Dept. thread.

My rattle is coming from just left of here. Where the vent is. Sounds like the vent is rattling..

The speedometer cluster is attached with a series of crappy plastic clips. Grab the cover with both hands in-between the gauges, and pull out.

Examine the condition of the clips and replace if they appear worn. Otherwise, try reinstalling firmly...this did it for me. If not, there are additional steps you can take BUT no sense in doing so if this does the trick.
