Rapid Clicking Noise When Trying to Start

I have an 05 TL that began to give me trouble starting two days ago. At first I thought it was the battery as it seemed to be turning over more slowly. Today when I tried to start it all that happened was there was a rapid clicking sound. Lights and radio seemed fine. When I tried again one headlight came on and the other one began to blink (I'm not making this up)....rolled the car down the driveway about 15 feet, waited a minute, tried again and it started. Any suggestions or ideas as to the problem would be appreciated.

battery, terminals, ground terminal, G1 on the chassis..radio and whatnot can work fine..but once u put a heavy load on the batt and the terminals, any loose, bad, or oxidized connections will prevent it from starting...start by checking ur battery, then clean and grease the terminals, make sure their tight, and also clean and grease the ground cable attached to the body of the car.

The rapid clicking is the solenoid trying to get the starter drive to move outward, but as there is not enough power it kicks back and continues the cycle continues.

Typical "classic" behavior of one or more cells bad in the battery. Your interior lights and some of the car's items will work on less that all cells good but other stuff will act possessed. It can start to work again but it's very short lived and unpredictable. If it's the OE battery and all connections were fine I'd replace it.

I had the same thing happen to me this AM but my car is an 07 Type S so I would think the battery would last longer than 2 years. Going to get a new battery tonight and see what happens.

I got a new battery last month- under warranty. 06 TL with 36k miles. I had exactly the same symptoms. Acura doesn't seem to put good quality batteries in their cars.
