Quarter Down A/C Vent

I think over the weekend my 2yr old son stuck a quarter in the A/C vent above the nav display. I was missing a quarter over the weekend when I had four of them in the cup holder area. Yesterday, I noticed a strange sound when I brake or accelerate hard. It sounds like the coin is behind the head unit. Anyone know if this coin could somehow end up in the A/C system and break something?

I would just pull out the vents above the radio and look around. If you hear it when yo break, that probably means its still there. I highly doubt its in your ac system. Pulling the vents out is really easy, just take a small flat head and angle it in the bottom left corner of the driver side vent. Pry it back and forth gently. Once it comes out a bit on the driver side, do the same to the passenger side. Next just pull on it with your hands and it should pop out. I just hope its not behinfd the radio, cuz taking the radio out is a project on to itself.

Its still in the vent somewhere. If it were resting on top of the radio, it would have dropped down by now.
Check the 3G Garage for the video series on removing the center console---there is a clip dealing specifically with this particular vent unit. Also, make sure you wrap the end of any tools you may use with a MF towel to prevent scratches. This area is probably the most highly visible area in the car.
Good luck!

P.S.: Keep the kid in the carseat in the back from now on!!!

For those that were wondering, the car was parked and off when my kid was playing in the front seat.

The coin will not damage the AC components etc, but can be annoying. I've had this issue as well. I ended up speeding in reverse, braking hard to get it down into the console. (the TL-S has rear passenger vents) I took it apart and found 36 cents in the rear vents. How could someone mistake this for a piggy bank?? Bastards...
