The heater lights are the reason I had the blue ones made, so yes The seat bulbs are a lower output, thus making them a yellowish color, so the manufacturer put a little blue 'condom' over it to make it less yellow and more of a white. I am not sure how BLUE the LEDs will be in comparison to the incandescent blue lights, but I have ordered 30 blues along with the 110 whites.

Putting LED's in all areas except for the radio would look odd i think. Is there any solution for the Radio?

Forgive me but I am not sure what your saying. Are you referring to the lights INSIDE of the radio or around the radio (I.e hot/cold, defrost Auto button, etc...)

Just out of curiosity, how do your led differ from another companies's led... i.e. ?leds.com?just wondering if all your hard work is for naught?

I think he's referring to the ones like in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/g-100-diy-led-interior-conversion-part-i-map-light-console-746609/

If I'm not mistaken there are a bunch in the radio as well, for all of the radio buttons.

Not as easy of a replacement, but do-able for those with some soldering skills and the courage to disassemble their radio/face or other boards and do some work to them.

I think deathmetal did a thread for the radio as well, but don't see it in the garage.

I've been considering doing this with blue LEDs for everything in the interior and it'd be really cool if someone packaged an entire set for everything inside the car.

Found the thread here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/radio-led-conversion-complete-761223/

Ditto, hence why I tried to come up with an alternative to ripping things apart so often.

LEDs.com doesn't quite have what this is, but it is an alternative if you wanna do the work.

These are plug and play replacements. No soldering, resistors, etc... Just untwist the old and put in the new. A 3yr warranty can (and will) be placed on each LED. These little guys are amazing for life span. The only PITA you have to deal with is screwing it in the right way. These are polar sensitive, so if they dont work one way.....rotate 180 and twist again. You will be good.

I have not ordered red this time around, but if you would like I can have some red ones made up for you and get them on the way. I sent another email to the site owners. Looking into Amazon. Worse case I go to eBay but the cost will be a few cents higher to cover their costs.

Well it looks like Amazon will not allow me to sell LEDs without approval. Upon request it looks like I need a company product website to submit an approval request. So It looks like eBay is next in line.

I understand they're plug and play for the type that they replace. What I was trying to explain is some of them are a different style that are soldered directly onto circuit boards in some areas such as the radio and some of them in the ceiling console.

These wouldn't be able to replace those, so what someone else was trying to explain is if you did this you would have half your LEDs be blue and the rest in the areas such as the radio where they're soldered directly onto PCBs would still be the OEM white.

I was just curious if you'd be packaging a set of those as well? Replacements for the little guys that are soldered directly to the boards or just the type with the plastic bottom that screws into a slot?

Still a nice option and would speed up the work quite a bit, I could always order the other little guys elsewhere with resistors, color match could end up different though..

Do you know what color in kelvin the LEDs you're using are? And the lumen output?

I see what your saying. Thank you for the explanation. I am not sure if I can really afford to include separate LEDs for the radio. Maybe down the road, but I am 'donating' money to this cause currently as it stands. It looks like I might have to go ebay as it will be approx 250.00 a month to become a vendor on here. That will put me further in the hole each month and my wife would friggn' kill me if I unloaded 3k a year on advertising and I never made it back.
As it currently stands the pricing covers everything but the eBay fees and some shipping. I will have to eat that and hope it isn't too crazy to the point where the wife finds out about the depleting bank account.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions as I do not feel it is right talking about a product on here that I am providing to the public, even if I am not making a profit.

And Rob. POST UP YOUR PICS!

Understood, should definitely make it profitable for yourself or I think this won't last that long. You can defray ebay costs by raising your price some so you turn a profit and just make the buyer pay shipping charges.

Small FRB at USPS is probably the cheapest option if there are a lot of LEDs, or alternatively if it comes out to less than 12 oz you can ship it USPS First Class mail in a small box for not much money.

You get the ebay + paypal hit from selling on ebay, but I'll definitely be interested in these when you start selling them.

On eBay for now until I sort out the Vendor cost. Maybe if work offers a good quarterly bonus. I offered a package deal on ebay, so anyone can contact me on there with an offer. These things just cost so damn much to make it really cuts into any chance of profit. It is not fair to ask a person to pay higher than dealer prices for a light (although it will last 6-10 times longer). That is all that goes through my mind every time I think of raising the price to cover a vendorship on here.

I am between a rock and a hard spot. The product will be at my door step within a week and no solid direction to sell them in. It may come down to me making a little more of a sacrifice to get everyone what they need to fix a common problem.

Utilitarianism right?

Thank you everyone (mods included) for your guidance and support in this venture. If anyone has any ideas is to how to properly go about pricing things so I am not losing and we are all winning PM me and I will share the details. A rep from the site has been very kind with pricing a monthly vendor fee, so I have that to plug into the equation.

Here's my honest opinion, why not contact Excelerate or Mr.Heeltoe or another vendor on here and offer it to them? They are already vendors on here and you can split the profits with them! Also you could simply email the folks on acurazine you were speaking to about vendorship and maybe they can work with you! For example say that you'll donate a set of bulbs during the holiday drive for toys for tots, or you'll contribute the proceeds to our charity drive!

Great ideas. Since I do not make a profit now it would be tough to split anything :/ unless I find someone else who can build the design for less. I am ALWAYS open for donating. The owners were able to go down to 180.00mo. Way better than 250. Might be easier to talk the wife into it.

I like the idea of replacing these once, and never again. I'm probably in for a set.

Great find. I might just keep the first order and put it into my car and call it quits on this adventure.

I think the only difference is all of mine are all SMD and fit in 21 different locations and guaranteed to fit out cars (6mm neck, 10mm base, approx 7-8mm high etc...)

Again great find.

When I checked my suppliers this is what I asked them for, I think I send you pictures of these lol...Didn't know this is what you were making. If someone still made an entire kit vehicle specific it would be easier for people though. Your still onto something just not worth advertising for.

En light of the rediscovery of these lights I am sitting on a much larger bill than I originally thought. I will not have any more made as these are already being made by a much larger company and I have no intentions of starting a business or making money off a venture like this. I PMed Ron A about possibly selling what I have on the black market for .01 less than I paid to have each one made. This will not break the bill even however it will help me out in this expensive lesson.

Just keeping everyone in the loop.

For a reply from Ron. Due to my qty of lights I cannot sell them on the black market. Guess ill be swallowing these one payment at a time. On a lighter note I am super glad we all learned something new and I got to meet some awesome new people on the forum.
