Problems after the first week...

Had this 05 TL with 67XXX for a week, just turned 68000 today, i think i put on about 200 miles....btw, i bought it from an Acura Dealer along with 36K/3 year warranty

1. Rear brakes squeaked today, does not happen all the time, just on random occasion, especially if i m going slow...like 20mph and hit the brake!

2. Sound from right side speaker MAGICALLY disappeared, just happened today as well, after couple mins it's back to normal!

3. Driver side sidemarker dims and sometimes flashes...looks like it's gonna die...but sometimes it looks normal.

just e-mailed the Acura service dept, I am really hoping I don't have to pay a cent for all these things, the sales guy told me they made sure the tires and brakes have at least 50% life left before they put it for sale.....will my warranty cover everything i mentioned above??? i was told the warranty covers all mechanical and electrical problem....... sigh

the brakes are normal wear and tear items, but if you have put on about 200 miles. then they should goodwill the brakes. Everythign else should be covered under warranty.

Yea that sounds about right, if the dealer gave you the correct info on the warranty.

I'm sure they will give you a loaner car or at least a ride to work. They are going to try and 'duplicate' the issues so I hope it happens when you are there. Just talk to the service manager and all of the instances I have had with them, they have always tried to go above and beyond. Good luck and keep us posted on your situation.

^that's the risk you take. if the guy riding along in your car doesn't note any issues, then you won't get anything resolved.

they have to "see/hear/notice" the problems you're having, not just hear you tell them about it.

good luck to you, let us know how it works out.

ok so i finally took the car back to the dealer, my service manager told me it's normal for the brakes to squeak especially when it's cold, according to him its a common prob of TL, however he still took the car in and had a mechanic check on it, looks like my front pad still got 4mm left while the rear has 6mm left...front brake should still last another 10k~15K while rear has another 15K~20K left....(again this is according to him)

also he replaced my left side marker for free, it died when i arrived at dealer..

and yup they gave me a 2011 TL loaner car....the car is pretty sick...but i still love my 05 TL....

congrats for getting everything fixed....

BTW the TL squeaking in the cold is BS....i have owned my 05 for ~5 years now and it never squeaks....only time it does is when the brakes are cold (1st 2-3 brakes every morning)....nothing to do with the weather....

NOT COLD WEATHER....on cold braking you do get a little squeak....

I have Powerslot slotted rotors and hawk HPS brake pads....when I leave my apartment complex, it squeaks....what i do is I ride my brakes (warm em up) for the first 10 seconds of driving.....this way in 10-15 seconds of driving you get no squeaks and great braking.....
