Possible belt whine during cold weather?

Hi Guys,

I've got a '06 TL with roughly 91K. Lately when I start up the car in chilly weather (35-45 degree F) the car starts pretty rough so much that I can feel it through the floor boards near the pedals. This morning it was 32 degrees out and on my way to work I heard a whining sound which got worse when I made a sharp left turn. Even at idle I continue to hear it though slightly. During startup today it started pretty damn rough.

I replaced the plugs about 10K ago, and same with the battery.

Any thoughts? Appreciate any feedback.

Tks
Tom

I've actually heard the same exact whiny sound in the same conditions. mine eventually goes away though as the engine gets warm. any feedback on this would help.

Just noticed mine started to make a "churning noise" or "whine" when i turn the wheel. Took a look at how much fluid I have, its full but looks like a hint of rust color was added.

I'd assume neither of you have replaced the o-ring in the P/S pump?

O RING AT THE INLET POWER STEERING PUMP HOSE. SO CHEAP TO FIX THAT ITS NOT A BAD IDEA TO TRY BEFORE ANY OTHER ACTION. IF ITS ON COLD AND GO AWAY AFTER WARM UP. CAN BE SURE THATS THE PROBLEM. HERE ITS THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REPLACE IT.
