On my 06 TL the RPM will surge when i am going about 40 mph. it does not happen when i accelerate. It only surges up approximately 2-300 rpm. i replaced my throttle position sensor about 6 months ago. Any one able to shed light on this? Thanks

 

Am i the only one who has ever experienced this.

 

does it feel like its downshifting to 2nd gear? i replaced my aap sensor now my car shifts hard and sometimes goes straight to second even on freeways feels like im gonna blow my motor.

 

No. It normally happens when it is cold at about 45 mph while at an even speed. Really only surges about 150-200rpm. I am pretty sure that it also happened before i replaced my throttle position sensor.

I think I read somewhere a while back that it isn't actually an issue. My car does it too, I don't sweat it.

 

Just did a little searching, looks like its the torque converter locking and un-locking. Speed up or shift into 4th to take it easy on your torque converter and keep the tranny cooler.
