yeah the radio is working just fine which leads me to believe its not just a blown fuse, all my electronics are working fine except the cd player, when i DO try and use the cd player all hell breaks loose, my voice commands stop working, same with the radio and all audio shuts off and i have to restart my car to turn the radio back on

My car did the same...radio works fine but when you tried to use the CD player it took in the disc and then got confused and shut off the whole radio. I had to turn off the car and power it back up, then the radio was fine again. I went to a junk yard and bought a used radio. It works perfect...knock on wood!

Ive not had my CD working for just about a year now. it did the same thing. I think its just broken. I even resorted to using the cassette (tape adapter for my MP3 player) and eventually I wore that out too. Just stuck with the radio.
Acura offers an option to send your radio in, they fix it for a fee (I think between $300 to $400) by sending it to a radio repair shop and they reinstall it back, retaining all the functionality of the OEM system.
thats what I plan to do sometime but Im in no hurry.

There are some companies which sell refurbished OEM radios on eBay with good ratings. I'm thinking of getting the 2008 TL radio that has MP3 capability and Aux jack input if the connectors looks the same.

@legend2tl - I have a 2005 Acura TL; so you're saying that I can actually go to ebay and order an OEM radio that has AUX jack? Would this work with my 2005 TL? And would it sound just as if you were to use a CD? Thank you!

Yes, but the plug would need adapting.
In addition, make sure that whoever is selling the radio on ebay has the anti theft code to provide you.
Honestly, I've been without it for 3 months now, and I'm getting used to it. Between XM, Ipod (via i simple) and radio, I've got plenty to listen to without a CD.
