Powertrain Fluid?

I took my car in to the dealer to get some warranty work done and the service rep just called me back suggesting a brake fluid and powertrain fluid replacement. I asked him if he meant transmission fluid and he said it was different. I've never heard of powertrain fluid and I'm not having any luck finding information online. Anyone know what he's talking about?

Ha! What dealer is this? He probably means trans fluid. Technically powertrain fluid would= an oil change, but that's probably not what he means.

I hope you are kidding, because "powertrain fluid" sounds like sales or your service rep has no clue. Maybe I'm and , but I've never heard of "powertrain fluid" either-- maybe gas additive/injector cleaner??

ok I'm glad I'm not the only one confused. I think I'll politely decline this one if he can't explain it any further.

Your Service Advisor = dumb ass.

At least he's not selling Blinker Fluid and Muffler Bearings.

well I just called him back and apparently he said "power steering" fluid, not "powertrain", but I didn't understand his accent.

nothing to see here folks, move along.

hell no.. lol.. I'd be a sarcastic ass to the guy. Tell him you want them to check your blinker fluid, kick the tires and top off the radiator with water while they're at it.
