finally happened to me...

so it finally happened, my Fujita CAI ripped right at the mount. I read a few of the older threads but i think fulani said that Fujita isn't even making our CAI anymore?

So to people who have dealt with this recently, what should I do? (yes, i know i have to replace the CAI, do i contact Fujita? is there a name i should specifically ask for?)

also, in lieu of my not being able to pass inspections since my CAT and EVAC lights were "not ready", is it possible this is what has been affecting it?

I haven't noticed until i recently took it out to drive and when i shut the engine off i realized there was no farting CAI sound, and thats when it dawned on me that the CAI could've broken off around the mount; i took a quick peek, and sure enough that's what it was, but like everyone else's posts it was a clean break, i'm sure there was no shrapnel that got into the engine. My car now emits a crap ton of clear smoke out of the exhaust....etc etc

help!!

Sorry to hear that man did you contact Fujuita just to make sure that you can't get a replacement.

Holy crap.. you still have the Not Ready status.. bro.. I pray that it gets resolved. Did you take it through the recommended reset drive cycle? GL with the Intake.

yea, i did the drive cycle thing and everything, put about 1200 miles on it..the whole she-bang....

that's why i'm wondering if maybe the CAI had started to tear and maybe that caused the EVAC/CAT to say not ready?

haha thanks for the prayers majofo; i already e-mailed Fujita hopefully they'll help me out.

odd, i didnt come across one thread that specifically indicated this, well that's good to know, if Fujita doesn't come through I guess i'll have to go AEM v2.

update*

Fujita is a very solid company, told me to snap pics of my intake, provide proof of purchase, which actually didn't cuz my email addy was my undergrad school one...(long story it got changed a few times while in school and school forgot to transfer over past emails)

anyway, provide pics of the problem, etc etc, and they said they should have a shipping/tracking no. by the end of today, i called yesterday.

hopefully this all works out

now, i've been reading up and without a dedicated thread to it i'm kinda confused...am i supposed to cut the width of my TB off the CAI? and err...how do ppl propose i do that?

Too bad about that. I was hoping I'd never read a thread like this since I've got the F5 and TB spacer.

As far as cutting, yes, cut off about 3/4" - 1" off the end on the TB side. Band Saw would be perfect. Anything that'll give a nice even cut all the way around. Clean the edges.

:sucks:

I am curious, could this possibly happen to my Intake?

I have an AEM Cold Air Intake. I got it in December of 08.

I always seem to hear a slight screeching coming from it when I push the gas minimally to increase speed. Though it goes away at a constant speed.
I think it's just the air going through the pipe. Or I need to adjust the damn thing. It's tight on the block.
