Power steering problems.

05 TL 6 speed MT
Woke up to a super hard steering. For a minute or so returned to normal, just to then get super hard while driving. No noise, I replaced the belt 6 months ago. Fluid doesn’t seem to be moving. Also O rings are brand new. Any ideas? How do I know the PS pump is at fault?

Take the outlet on the PS reservoir tank off and feed a clear vinyl tubing into a catch can. Start your engine, if no fluid coming out mean you got no fluid circulation (aka your PS pump took a dirt nap).

I actually rebuilt my power steering pump, yesterday!

tried the easy way of just replacing a hose....but it was still letting air in and creating the god awful power steering whine...
then i was like fuck it, time to take apart the pump!

took the pump all apart, replaced all the o-rings and then rebuilt it! re-installed it on the car and no more pump whining noise!
