I posted yesterday. Alternator appears good, new ignition.
Once I jump start, it is fine, I can drive over 50 miles (so assuming NOT alternator).
Troubleshooting-
1) light on bottom of both front doors were left on, wouldn't shut off, checked and they remained on as far I can see when door shut. So they weren't shutting off. So I pulled fuse.
2) I had issues with accessory socket as my GPS got stuck, I forced out and not sure if I damaged...but pulled that fuse
3) Front LED light flickers- not sure if shorted, haven't done anything yet
4) Front passenger window when putting up/closed, it pops back down about 6" and I have to play/toggle to shut.
5) Front driver's window used to auto close once depressed, but now I have to hold until closed.
Those are the issues, some I've addressed, but still having to jump car. Thankful for the GB40 if purchased- a charm!
-1. HFL - did you disconnected that?
0. How's the battery test? Looking for professional printout from the shop.
1. Do you have message on the dash that any of the doors are open? Manually depress door jamb switch and check if those lights are going out. Those lights are controlled by micu.
2. Damaged socket would either not work, or short out, burning the fuse anyways. Unlikely that it's causing the draw.
3. Front LED lights? Which ones?
4 and 5. There is procedure to reset auto window feature without scan tool. Try that:
3rd Gen, 2006.
Yes, disabled the HFL.
Battery dies ...I JUST bought one yesterday...worked fine yesterday, this morning, couldn't start.
Very frustrating as you can imagine
1. Ok. To track down the issue you will need to have ampmeter or ampclamp.
If you don't have one, get any that has decent accuracy and will work with DC (as some cheaper ones can measure only AC current).
I bought this one a while back:
2. Automatic windows might stop working because battery is going flat, resetting the module. Don't worry about that for now.
3. Did you try taking AC compressor cluch relay out? It's second common draw in our cars.
thoiboi, but wouldn't much more stuff not be working if MICU is fried? Or even if there would be some problem with communication.
1. James, you wrote:

But it doesn't mean that those lights are not turning off. Connect the jump pack so the car has some power, put that fuse back, open door, and depress the door switch with your hand.
I mean the one in B pillar, like this one:
Is the light staying on anyways? We need to be 100% sure that there is a problem.
2.
3) Front LED light flickers- not sure if shorted, haven't done anything yet
What LED light flickers? Does it do it when engine is not running? Does it do it all the time, even after car was running for more than 10 minutes?
Well the MICU controls tons of things. If only a part of it is corroded, it could affect only a portion of the things.. Hard to say really, can it just be a coincidence that so many electrical issues are occuring at once...
Was the car in a front end accident before? Has it rained recently?
Ok won't worry about windows. I do have an amp meter...however, I can muddle through and learn etc, but I'm definitely no mech. But learn a lot when when issues arise through internet/youtube searches.
AC Compressor, assume that is to do with air conditioning? This summer, the A/C did crash...I saw 'smoke' come out of vents slightly, then stopped. The AC then stopped working. So If I pull ACC fuse or disable the AC compressor?
I did that with door, depressed door close sensor, and light stayed on for 10 mins. Also looked very dim as the bulb is burning out.
LED- when engine is on and takes some time to flicker. This is the passenger front LED. It burnt out months ago and before it did, was flickering too. My mech replaced and started flickering again.
I pulled the Acc Socket fuse as I had issues with my aftermarket TomTom GPS, it got jammed in the socket, and had to pry out. Not sure if I damaged the socket to remain on? But fuse is out for now.
May have used wrong term as not a mechanic, but there are the daylamps and then brighter lights you can use, only one bulb on each side; but bright like the newer models.
1. Ok mate, take a photo of that light that is flickering. Circle it in paint or something, or take a photo when it's ON.
2. Do you have canadian version of TL by any chance?
3. You wrote that you have ampmeter. Take a picture of it for me. Any idea how to use it?
4. Is the "door open" message on the dash even when door closed.
5. Anything else that we should know? For example, like thoiboi asked, was it raining really badly recently, was the car in the accident, etc.
Try to answer every question. I'm trying to help but I must know more about the car.
Sorry for asking sometimes obvious questions, but you would be surprised how much stuff people omit.
So....are we talking about the HIDs flickering? Pics would be great to completely understand what light is being discussed here since terminology isn't aligned quite yet.
