will fog light draw too much
will fog light draw too much
hay, i need an advise from expert.... installingfog light that eats 55W on each lamps, will it draw too much power and overload the battery? and what is the wattage of the facory fog lamps?
thanks!!
thanks!!
Don't confuse wattage with volts. Volts would be the "pull" you are concerned with and since watts = volts x amps, your likely "pull" is only 5.5 volts at 10 amps, hence a 55W foglight system.

(Or, 55W/14V=3.93A, voltage is closer to 14V when the car is running)
But perhaps I'm a bit off, its time for me to head to bed
Considering the fuse for the circuit is 10amps, the total draw per light may be the 5amps you are referring to.
As for 14v, the alternator only spools that high to charge the battery at peak. Normal flow to the battery can be as low as 11v or at continuous, 13.3v. Most round up to 14 as an absolute output.
