Question Possible wiper issue?

Not sure if I have a problem or if it is by design (If it were to be by design I would be a first for me) when I pull the lever for mist the wipers do not follow, I have to manually lift the lever. Is this normal?

It's definately not normal in my '06 TL.

On my TL, I have to pull the wiper lever back and hold it for a second, as the washer fluid sprays, before the wiper blades activate.
If I release the wiper lever immediately, the wiper blades will not activate to clear off the windshield.

if you just mist really quick then they won't wipe. Have to hold it a little.

So it sounds like some people have the wipers follow immediately after pulling forward and some have a delay. I tried holding it longer and it seemed to work, is this something the dealer would like at if the vehicle is still under warranty or will they say it’s by design and it works as it should?
None of my other vehicles have ever had this type of delay.

HRM sounds like maybe the lever has a bad contact. The wipers should come on. If your still under warranty, take it back to the dealer.

Some delay is normal. You don't want the wipers to begin at the exact same time as the squirters.
