so i drove my car to work this morning, when i came out i tried opening the car with the remote but the car wouldnt unlock, so i opened it with the key, started the car n let it warm up... as im driving down the road my headlight indicator light in went off even tho the lights were still on!!! after a few minutes it came back on for a few seconds n then it went off again n stayed off, about 3 miles down the road i stopped at a red light n the alarm started going off n all the lights on my dash were flashing... i turned off the car, took the keys out of the ignition, put them back n started the car n the alarm stopped. headlight indicator light was still off, then i tried using my wipers n it would only work on LO or HI, intermittent did not work.... then as i was changing lanes n put my turn signal on i noticed that they did not work either!!!!!!!! but the intermittent lights (caution lights) do work.... i got home n took the battery out of the remote n disconnected the battery cables... put everything back n the problems are still there....nothing mention above work.... i think i got some major electrical problems.... i drive an 04 TL with 114k miles..... never had an electrical issue till today.

 

Update... I disconnected the battery n went to take a nap. Woke up a few hrs after n reconnected the battery... everything started working just fine!!! I decided to take my girl out to dinner, stopped at the gas station about 2 miles from my house n the car started acting up again...same symptoms ... still went out to dinner. Just got back n decided to put the car in the garage till tomorrow...I disconnected the battery again n pulled out the ecm fuses under the hood... we will c what happens tomorrow.

 

did you get a fix for your car ...i have a 05 acura tl and the alarm went off like yours did and now I have similiar problems , my turn signals dont work ,my hi -lo beams my beeping noise for the seat belts and alot more stuff ..let me know if you found the solution please.

I am having this same exact problem, just started today. I have an 05 TL. Dunno wtf is going on with this pos car, but I've lost all respect for Acura when a car like this has this magnitude of failure. I'm already dealing with my driver's side actuator not working. I can't even drive this car now since it appears my rear defrost doesn't work either.

Things not working:
Fog Lights will not work.
Dash headlight indicator is out, but headlights turn on.
TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK.
Outside Temp Gauge is out.
Windshield wipers only work on max.
Gauges do not toggle between MAX BRIGHTNESS and normal brightness when I turn on the headlights - almost like the car doesn't know the lights are on.

This is complete BS, and shouldn't be happening.

Probably are other things not working, but that's the big stuff I've noticed thus far.

 

Just discovered I cannot open my trunk either because my key fobs don't work anymore. I can't even open the rear doors of the car at this point without climbing back in there.

 

I hate to even ask this but have you guys checked every fuse in the car?

 

I have almost the exact same problem. I haven't checked all that you have listed but it is pretty darn close. Also, my AC doesn't work! and its getting close to summer. This has happened once and what I did was remove the negative terminal from the battery. Left it off overnight and next morning reconnected it. It worked well for a month or two and now the same thing has happened again. I tried disconnecting the battery again but this time with no such luck. I've checked all the fuses i could and they all seem fine. I'm going to check my grounds now but am running out of ideas.

 

Search for Multiplex Integrated Control Unit.

The problem is the MICU. That unit is integrated in your fuse panel ( the fuse panel on the drivers side foot panel.


The MICU pretty much controls all electronics in your vehicle. One thing that would make it go haywire is if water got into it. ( leak from windshield or sunroof drain clogged )

what's the part number and how much to get it fix?

 

Not certain of the part number since they vary between 04-06, 07-08.
I think the layout is the same across all years though. Never got the chance to install it since replacing it is really tricky.
Tricky meaning small space to get to the back of it to loosen a bolt but it can be done.


my problem ended up being a leak developing along the edge of my windshield which had water drip down onto it.


eventually it fixed itself after resealing the windshield and I have this MICU sitting in a box in my basement.




let me see if I can find a part number or something.




edit:....since I purchased this in Jan 2013, I can no longer view the ebay page I purchased it from.
It's from an 07.


When I get home I'll look to see if the part number is on the unit and will let you know.
