Passenger airbag light on/off

Hey guys, I have 08 TL 5AT and I have nobody or nothing on my passenger seat and the passenger airbag off light is not on, which means the airbag is on.
and at times the light would come on and off when again, there is nobody sitting or nothing on the passenger seat.
I've been reading other threads for some answers and I guess my sensors are messed up..?
Also, i was wondering if you guys would know the cost if i were to fix this problem at the dealership..
Thanks for your time !

I was wondering the same thing, but in my case the "OFF" light is not on at all.
Is the "OFF" light supposed to stay on when there is no one in the seat?

Had the same issue with my '05 TL last year, the problem was with the seat belt buckle set. It is a safety warranty issue, the dealer will repair at no cost. They have to order the parts driver and passenger buckle sets, 04813-SEP-A012D and 04816-SEP-A11ZD and it takes 4 hours to replace, have to remove seats.

I got mine done free of charge this past year in September. Took it in to verify that my passenger seatbelt buckle was faulty and they checked. Mind you they let you know that there is a diagnostic fee and would be charged if it was something else, but sure enough the belt buckle went bad so they agreed to replace it.

Its covered under the lifetime seatbelt warranty by Acura. I had 147k miles when I brought mine in.

Had to bring it back since they had to order it and I was not in town when it came in. Gave me a loaner for the day too since I had to schedule a date in advance when I was back in town.

just my

The "OFF" light is only supposed to illuminate when there is some light weight-- more than 10 lbs., but less than the weight of an adult passenger-- on the seat.

The "OFF" light should be off when the seat is empty, or an adult is sitting in it.

I understand this is an old post but can anyone tell me why when I hop in my car the passenger airbag off light flashes a few times then goes off regardless if someone’s in the seat or not? 04 TL
