Exclamation P0171 + p0174

Just picked up a MT Type-s and am seeing these codes - P0171 and P0174. Talked to Acura Dealership, they say its software that needs to be updated. I did some searching and see it mentioned here, but wanted to ask for updated insight. Please chime in if you have dealt with this and know how to resolve it.

Thinking of driving it a few hundred mile today, and don't want to if this is something more than a software upgrade.

There is a TSB issued by Acura for the Type S models that address this issue. Acura will re-flash the ECU with the updated firmware, and it will resolve your issue (I did this 2 years ago) The PCM interprets the O2 data incorrectly causing the the ECU to throw the P Codes you referenced.

Does driving it without resolving the issue hurt the car?

No, but I would still have them update it as soon as you can. They shouldn't charge you a lot to do it (~$80 give or take)

My Code keeps popping up and going away on its own, at this point im thinking its a valve adjusment that is needed.
Car is no longer registered in new york so i could care less about emissions.

My '07 TL-S was intermittently throwing the P0171 code and later clearing it.
When I checked my service records I found that I hadn't changed the spark plugs in over 100K.

I changed the plugs & cleared the code, no re-occurrence for over 2K miles now.

The plugs was the first thing i changed when i bought my car, the dealer had my car for almost over a week and couldnt figure it out, and ultimately concluded that a valve adjustment was needed so ill do that over the summer.

I did the software update and it didnt work for me lol. Honestly this code does not effect the performance of the car so i stopped caring, my biggest concern was passing emissions but that is no longer a factor for me. only thing left to try is adjust the valves which i hear does fix this, so over the summer ill get it done.

Coming from owning 3 nissan maximas, this car is far more reliable, ive done plugs and three oil changes since owning the car. Aside from a blown rear strut, bald tires and brakes which need to be done, the car has not let me down once. I did research on the code and i have none of the symptoms that come with it, also the code goes away and comes on its own so im not even worried.
