What I do have an issue with is trying to pass off ones shortcomings on another party. I was fully aware I would be responsible for buying a new engine if mine blew up while running nitrous or whatever may have happened along the way. If I didnt think I could afford it...I wouldnt have done it. I priced out engines for my TLS before I installed the kit. If you want to play that is all well and good BUT should something happen that is directly related to a mod you did... in the case of the OP... why should American Honda pick up the slack? You arent expected to pick up the slack should something on American Hondas end fail within the agreed upon warranty period are you?
Well put. I was going to keep my mouth shut in regards to the statement about us techs not knowing what we're doing, but I figured I would just back you up on this as well by saying I agree with your statement

To the OP, 3Gs don't have spark plug wires, we have coil packs, so I'm not sure where they came up with that, unless it was written up wrong by the service advisor (not knocking on service advisors by any means, sometime things are just translated wrong from the tech's writing on the RO to the actual invoice).

Is the car still running well?

OK first off, I suspect this latest dealership either doesn't know what they're doing, is trying to rip you off, or as acuratech239 suggested, doesn't know how to write. As he noted, the fact that they supposedly tightened down plug wires that don't exist makes me suspicious, as well as the original dealership's diagnosis of compression loss in a cylinder, and oil "shooting straight into the coolant." Those sort of problems don't happen because a coil pack is loose, and a radiator leak isn't going to show up at the throttle body because they're on opposite sides of the engine bay.

So, either dealership A is trying to sucker you into giving them 7 grand for a new engine, or dealership B missed the compression leak and the blown head gasket, and gave you the writeup for someone else's car. Or both.

In all of this, you've never told us what color your coolant is. That's an easy thing to determine, and would help us a lot in figuring out if something is wrong with your car. You need to stop saying "I'm not a mechanic." We know that. Most of us aren't either, but we learned how to work on our cars through forums like this. Go and do the tests we're asking you to do, and then tell us the results, and we'll help you understand what's going on.

So. . .What color is your coolant?

Also, you're going to want to keep an eye on your car anyway, since you used bars leak in it. That stuff (and all other radiator stopleaks) is notorious for plugging up things that it shouldn't be plugging up, like heater cores, so you may have actually created a problem in using it.

If the radiator was patched, I hope they did a flush and fill. Better yet, I hope they replaced the entire radiator, and drained the excess coolant from the engine/heater before refilling.

I asked him this in a PM covo we where having and he stated it was not milky or frothy in anyway which discounts what the dealer was saying. ???
