Did you put any glass objects (water bottle?) in this seat? Many moons ago, when I was first driving, my dad found some burn marks in his car. Boy was he PO'd. He was *sure* I had friends in there smoking when I borrowed his car (I don't think he understood that you would smell it if anyone was smoking). Several months later I saw a glass watter bottle in the back seat, and it was reflecting the light (like a magnifying glass) right onto the burn marks. He never really apologized for that.

Pics are not showing up... Without seeing it, I would probably say that the seat heater freaked out some how. Like a remote control car low on battery too far away from you.. goes faster somehow than it ever did before and hooks into the curb

Doesn't look like the seat heater caused that. Looks like acid or something. I think the heating element for the seats would have burned a whole all the way though by the time you are able to notice it from the outside of the seat.

That is nasty. Where on the seat is it? Is it in the center, side? If know more we can guess something. For now it looks like something have scratched it. Were you caryying in tools in your back pocket or something? I think the only thing viable is to change the fabric. I'm sure dealer can change just one piece. Back or seat whatever that is.

dude, it looks like something peirced it also, so my guess is that someone had a sharp object or rough object in their back pocket or something, those are scratches not melting....

Jatt, do you remember keeping any hot beverage like coffee on the seat while you got in or out? Or rested some hot container there? It looks melted.

I would have gone with the "HOT FART" theory but you've already ruled that out. I have no clue what would do that to leather. When out 99' TL got broken into, the glass cut the seat. University Acura knows of some guy that repairs leather. It repaired the cut but I can see where it's repaired. I don't know if the repair or that melt mark would be worse.

how are evenings in Fresno, if it gets cold where it warrants the use of the heated seats, just take it to the dealer, and tell them this is what the hell happened...

it was cold at night, so you turned on your heated seats, after 10-15 mins, that shit got really hot, and you turned that shit off and pulled over cause of the pain to your ass, tell them you looked at the seat and thats what it looked like.... blame is on heated seat malfunction and their asses (no pun intended) should fix it faster than you can say lawsuit

That last pic looks suspicious. What's going on with that squarish lump under where the damage is?

There's something under the seat surface that is somehow involved in this, and I have to go with the seat heaters, too. You know, there could be a short that would affect only a small area like this and not the whole seat. Time to go to the dealer ...

Mike

Can leather melt? Looks more like a scrape or sandpaper but I didn't think you could melt leather.

That looks like melting to me. Take it to the dealer and you should be able to have it fix without any cost to you with no problem.

Definitely looks like a defect in the material. Dealer ought to replace it without issue.

Definitely looks like mechanical or heat damage to the seat and also there seems to be some kind of small object under the seat that has formed an indentation... Jatt let us know what you find out was the cause of this damage...

You didn't have burritos from some place like Taco Bell for lunch did you? That'll do it everytime... voids the warranty, too.
