Has anyone had any issues with oil leaks on a 2004 TL. Any info would be greatly appreciated....Its leaking on the rear side of the engine. Cannot determine exactly where.

 

Oil plug not fitted correctly?

 

Checked the oil drain plud also the filter and both are dry... The oil seems like its coming from the back of the engine maybe close to the rocker cover. But not sure... But the car only has 70000km... should this be a problem with a car with 70000km???

 

When did you last change the oil?

 

Two immediate sources come to my mind. Power steering hose. Rear main seal.

If you have a controlled area (garage or enclosed parking area), put a newspaper under your engine bay then check it the next morning.

Question. Is the leak collecting on your cat shield and causing an odor when you are stopped at a light?

 

Found out the problem to my oil leak. It is in fact the power steering hose thats leaking and sure enough it is under warranty.. Thanks guys for ur help
