No reverse! Need help!

I put my 2007 TL into reverse and it jumped. Now I have no reverse. The reverse lights come on but it just revs up like it would be in neutral. Drive works fine. Also the belt had come off before that and it wasn’t on when the reverse went out. I was just backing it down the driveway to work on it. Don’t know if that has anything to do with it

He wrote that drive works fine, which means axles must be fine. Guess we need transmission guy to solve that one.

Guess that's as much as I can help:

Except none of those seem like simple checks. Does any lights blink, does check engine light is on? Do you have enough ATF?

The check engine like is on but it has been on for some time due to a fuel system code. I did not get to run another check since the reverse problem. I also have enough ATF. Could it be related in anyway to my belt coming off?

Fixed!

The bearings on one of the tensioner pulleys locked up and made the pulley come off then the belt. I replaced the belt and pulley now reverse works. Can’t figure out how it was related but an easy $50 fix so I’m not complaining. Thanks
