No 4th gear or reverse after motor swap

long story short timing belt snapped while driving one day and bent the valves of my original motor. it was cheaper to swap it out with a lower milage motor so i went that route.

I had a good friend swap out the motor for me. we kept the same trans and engine harness on the car.

Ive never had this issue before the swap. i also changed the pressure switches and nothing changed. I've checked the harness and made sure everything is connected properly and everything looks right. i also had acura techs check it out and they can't seem to pin point it since its not throwing any codes at the moment.

Has anyone run into this issue before? or am i missing something?

Any suggestions would be great.

ETCG has a 3G TL engine swap video. There might be some hints there.

BTW: How did the belt snap? Was the tensioner bad? How many miles on that belt when it snapped?

He did it as a favor since we do business together and we both are trying to figure this out since the car is at his shop.

It was a result of a bad decision to do my tbelt service with aftermarket parts back at 90k. The belt snapped at 150k when the water pump leaked coolant into the timming belt cover making it hard to detect. Timing belt prematurely dry rotted running through the fluid until it snapped causing damage to the motor.

Thats my theory since i was having issues grtting heat in my car the month before it happened.

No heat in the car was likely a thermostat stuck open or a bad heater valve (more likely of the 2). The heater valves have been known to go bad.

I came up with that theory because i did replace the heater valve when it started having the issue. But itdidnt fix it. Upon removal of the tb cover the mechanic said a bunch of coolant pored out.

Ahh I posted the 2004-2006 manual which has a different trans than 2007-2008.

The code is for Shift Solenoid D Stuck off/intermittent performance .

Replace it and all should be good

check the wires coming from the solenoids and trans and verify none are pinched or damaged.
