I had the same issue in my 08. I also had this issue with my 03 Durango. Our fuel system is a closed system so usually that tighten fuel cap message indicates a leak in the system. Took the Durango to the dealer, they charged me $100 to diagnose and tell me I needed a new fuel cap. Lesson learned that the cheapest thing to do is buy a new fuel cap, I got one at my local Honda dealer, it was cheaper than the Acura one and that cured the issue. If it doesn't then your mechanic will need to do a diagnostic to see where the leak is.

Do not waste your time and money on a fuel cap.... like I did.
Purge Valve is easy to replace, right on top of the engine. I am an accountant and it took me less than 15 minutes.

+1

Replace the purge valve. The msg will go away after a few miles.
